One problem that is being dealt with today when using a tact switch is that the tactile switch turns yellow. What is the reason? The following is a detailed introduction to everyone.
Why do customers reflect that the tactile switch turns yellow after overheating or reflow? What is the reason?
1. After the research and analysis of the engineer, it will cause the yellowing of the tact switch after reflow soldering. Most of them use 6T plastic material, because 6T plastic material itself is easier to absorb water. If the plastic absorbs less water, it is estimated. The change of the button after heating is not very obvious, but if the absorbed water is more, the discoloration is very obvious. However, the function and life of the button itself are not affected, because the change is only the appearance color of the button.
2. There are many customers who mistakenly think that the button is not resistant to high temperature, but it is not. If it is not resistant to high temperature, the performance will be the deformation of the plastic base or the melting of the plastic base and the deformation of the elastic piece.
3. If the customer is still worried that such a situation will affect the quality of the tact switch, it is recommended that the customer use the LCP material.
4. Because the LCP material is relatively brittle, it is not easy to absorb water, so there will be no discoloration after reflow soldering.
